RePay offers banks worldwide a credit card concept that makes a contribution to a better world. This concept, ClimaCount, calculates the amount of CO2-emissions generated by purchases made with a credit card, making them transparent and automatically compensating them for the card holder.
RePay also takes responsibility within its own operations very seriously. For all its activities the amount of CO2-emissions are calculated and then also compensated. Obviously as many payments as possible are made using the Visa Greencard Corporate and in this way a large number of transactions are automatically compensated. The emissions linked to all other expenditure and activities are calculated and compensated separately through investment in projects such as those described on www.climacount.com.
RePay’s philosophy is that compensation is good, but reduction is even better. For this reason, our aim is not only to compensate the carbon footprint made by Repay’s activities, but also where possible to limit it without affecting the efficiency of our operational management. Below are some examples of measures that have been taken to limit the impact on the environment, sometimes even with positive financial consequences:
- Limiting flying by making use of video conferencing facilities so that a physical visit is not as often necessary;
- Making business-linked journeys with a car that has a green energy label;
- Limiting the number of pages to be printed; however, if they do need to be printed, then double-sided;
- Minimizing the number of physical mail shots to customers; as much online communication as possible.
