We welcome the opportunity to inform the world about our innovations, new partnerships and recent developments. That’s why we include here links to press releases and other materials that will be of help to those who are looking for background information about RePay International, the ClimaCount carbon offset scheme and our partners. And for a brief overview of RePay’s history and future plans, check out the timeline provided below.

2009

RePay forges ahead with its plans to make ClimaCount the carbon offset scheme of choice in mature payment card markets across the globe. In 2009 ClimaCount will also become operational in the United States of America.

2008

RePay and Visa signed a European agreement at the 2008 Cards and Payments Congress. As a result, ClimaCount is now part of Visa Europe’s new Commercial Card scheme.

2007

RePay reached a milestone in 2007 with the global launch of the ClimaCount carbon offset scheme.

RePay also launched the Visa GreenCard PartnerPlan in 2007. This plan makes the ClimaCount programme available for use with co-branded credit cards. As a result, RePay embarked on important new partnerships with IKEA, Oxxio and Univé, making the ClimaCount carbon offset scheme even more widely available in the Netherlands.

2005 and 2006

By 2006 the first credit card connected to RePay’s ClimaCount carbon offset scheme, the Visa GreenCard, was already a success in the Netherlands, just two years after its launch.

2004

In 2004 RePay joined forces with Visa to introduce the Visa GreenCard in the Netherlands. This was the first credit card to be connected to RePay’s ClimaCount carbon offset scheme. At the time the scheme was launched, the possibility to offset carbon emissions was still relatively unknown to the general public.
