Den Bosch, April 23rd, 2007 – RePay International, a division of Tendris Holding, has appointed Patrick Bunnik (39) as it’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Bunnik’s principal responsibility will be the launch of ClimaCount, the world’s first credit card concept linked to a climate compensation scheme for the Co2 emission that is related to products and services purchased with the card. ClimaCount is building on the Dutch success of the Visa GreenCard, which, among other things, was acclaimed the most innovative credit card by the European Financial Management & Marketing Association (EFMA) in 2005. Consequently, Bunnik will focus on the development and implementation of the new growth strategy for this “green” credit card. Bunnik will start his duties at RePay International on May 1st, working from the organisation’s new headquarters in Den Bosch.
Bunnik has extensive experience in the financial services sector. During the past few years, Bunnik worked for LaSer-Lafayette Services Nederland (LaSer Services), known for products such as Laser Cards, Primeline, Directa and Sygma. He worked for this company for a total of 10 years, the last six of which in the capacity of Sales Director. In this position, he played an instrumental role in the huge success of Laser Services, which has introduced approximately fifteen new credit card and loyalty schemes during the past three years. Before joining LaSer Services, Bunnik was active as Regional Sales Manager at Dixons for five years.
“People are becoming increasingly aware of climate changes and the fact that they are able to do something about it themselves,” Bunnik comments. “They are realizing more and more that they themselves are responsible for the damage that has been done to the environment. ClimaCount makes an important contribution to continued awareness, and offers the possibility to purchase products and services that are 100 per cent Co2 neutral. The only thing card holders have to do, is to pay for their purchase using a ClimaCount credit card. The costs of this credit card for both the user and acceptor are no higher than the costs of other cards. I think that I will be able to leverage my credit card expertise to make an important contribution to the international success of this combination of credit card and climate compensation scheme.”
RePay International B.V. is a division of Tendris Holding B.V. that focuses on the international launch of the credit card scheme ClimaCount for climate compensation. The ClimaCount brand follows up the GreenCard brand for international expansion purposes. Based on this global scheme, the climatical strain resulting from the purchase of card holders of, e.g., fuel, flight tickets and other polluting products is fully compensated for. ClimaCount realizes this through activities such as planting trees, generating sustainable energy and purchasing emission rights. For more information, please visit www.RePay-International.com.
Tendris Holding B.V. develops, realizes and supports concepts related to corporate social responsibility.
